Sweet and Sour Green Beans

This is something I threw together one night and it came out good.

Ingredients
  • about 1/2 to 2# fresh green beans
  • 3 or 4 strips of bacon
  • 1/4 of a large onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seeds
  • salt and pepper
Directions
  1. Fry the bacon really crisp and remove it.
  2. Drain off most of the grease, but leave about a tablespoon.
  3. Fry onion in the oil, add green beans and about a cup of water.
  4. Cover and boil until the beans are done... depends on how big the beans are.
  5. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for a while to reduce the amount of liquid.
  6. You can leave out the celery seed and just add celery with the onion and saute it.

It will be kind of like German potato salad sauce over green beans.
