Hamburger Stew

There are many of our family favorites that can easily be made GFCF and some that are just naturally that way.

I loved this best the next day but my Dad loved it best freshly made.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb hamburger meat
  • 1 lb chopped carrots/baby carrots
  • 1 lb potatoes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped celery stalk, leaves included
  • 1 16 oz or larger can of tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Crumble and brown hamburger in Dutch oven or large pot.
  2. Add vegetables except for tomatoes.
  3. Add enough water to cover vegetables well and then add tomatoes.
  4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-60 minutes to develop flavor as you like it.

This is one that was handed down from my grandmother to my mother. The hamburger can of course, be replaced with stew meat. Evan has only recently gotten where he will eat meat that is NOT ground.
